Outside My Window

No time is busier in the Apple than when you're trying to get out.

Ever since I put in my "non-notice" at work, my life has been a whirlwind. I call it a "non-notice" because even though I'm relocating, I won't be leaving the company after all. In fact, I'm signing on to cover all of New England -- which is my dream dream dream!!!  Let's just call it an offer I couldn't refuse.

So besides getting my new gear worked out, full-time job-ing, packing, and going out with friends almost every night... I've been working on making sure the Bean is ready for me, and I'm ready for the Bean.

There's a whole world outside my window, and I have no idea what's in store, but I'm working my tush off to make sure it'll be great.

As for Gatto? Well, she has given up trying to keep up with me...

All Grown Up!

Today, Gatto graduated from kitten to adult cat food.

I'm convinced this feeling is the pet equivalent of your baby taking her first steps while husband is deployed.

Our Gatito is all grown up!!

Confessions of a Workaholic

Confession: I am a workaholic.

Lately I have:
  • forgone a personal social life and enveloped myself in a purely work-related social life.
  • invited friends to hang out at my office instead of one of the bajilion hot spots in the Apple.
  • neglected posting about the fun holiday "goings on's" because I've been working.
  • spent more time drafting to-do lists, business plans, and contracts than taking my new tennis shoes to the gym.
  • contemplated turning one wall of our home into a white board.
  • convinced Gatto to be my assistant.

Broken

The ecofriendly cup that I couldn't stop talking about so Superman bought for our wedding anniversary...

Broken.

BROKEN!

Because our mischevious Gatto enjoys going on rampages where she knocks everything off the table.

I don't know what I'm more sad about... the fact that my first anniversary ecofriendly gift is broken, or the fact that I can't just call Superman up and tell him about it!

I am so over single parenting the (nightmare) fur-baby. And I am so over this minideployment!

When Superman's Away

I hate it when Superman goes away for the sole fact that whatever that will never go wrong in his presence, will absolutely go wrong in his absence.

In less than 24 hours since Superman left for training... Gatto has managed to throw up all over our bedroom floor. And now, my heart is aching for this cat because she just looks so uncomfortably sick and there's nothing I can do.

This has never happened before and I'm convinced that it never would've happened if Superman didn't leave.

Which makes me wonder what else is in store for me in these coming days...

While Superman's Away...

Superman is city hopping this week. He's got a slew of job interviews, which is great! But it also means that I'm on my own this week. When Superman gets back, I have planned an exquisite dinner featuring Halibut with Salsa Verde.

But tonight? Well, let's just say that when Superman's away, all hell breaks loose.

I'm retreating to boxed and frozen foods. Mmmm, processed foods....  takes me back to the old  (for now) deployment and TDY days.

And yes, that's Gatto on the kitchen counter. A Super household no-no, but Superman's not here to lay down the law!

Did I mention that he hasn't even been gone for 24 hours yet?

I'm totally going to pay for all of this when Superman drags my tush to Crossfit this week.

Project 52 (14)

Week 14: Envy

Don't be jealous of Gatto's new water fountain. Yeah, Gatto's pretty much the cat's meow.

Sunday

I promise this blog will not turn into Gatto central. But I just couldn't resist.
